Beacon Hill Scout Campsite is the district campsite for Horsham Scouts and is located within the High Weald AONB. Being equidistant from London & the South Coast offers great days out. The site comprises 36 acres of unspoilt grass and ancient woodland and is open to Scouts, Guides & Youth organisations.

With 16 individual sites and a Pavilion Hut, Beacon Hill can accommodate over 450 people for expeditions, sleepovers or camps of any duration.

Gummy’s

The pavilion hut has an equipped kitchen, large hall and a leaders room. The hall also has a toilet and an indoor wood burning stove.

Orienteering

With 12 markers to be found, the trail takes you across the entire campsite. We provide reusable activity sheets.

Pioneering

We have a huge number of pioneering poles varying in length, allowing even assault courses and bridges to be built by any age group.

Searles Playing Field

Our large grass playing field is perfect for games, pioneering or activities requiring more space. Trees & water taps border the field. There is also a large flag pole which can be used for ceremonies. The field cannot be booked at the weekend, it is open to any group already on site to use.

The amphitheatre style seating accommodates 120+ people in a natural hollow

The Cave - Instructed

The Cave is 66m of passage over 3 levels, and has 2 large chambers. It gives young people a true sense of caving. The complex cave network is in its own building, and can be used all year round. It is suitable for all ages from 6yrs upwards.

Tomahawk Throwing - Instructed

Young people can learn to throw tomahawks under the supervision of one of our qualified instructors on our new 3 target purpose-built range. The activity is recommended for ages 8 & up.

Rifle Shooting - Instructed

A purpose-built range which can be used for all target sports. Groups must bring all their own equipment and hold the necessary qualifications, or book one of our instructed activties.
