Using a small fire and small billy, boil some water in a plastic bottle

Resources

Tinder, wood, matches, small plastic bottles, water, tripod, hexiburners, string or other to suspend bottle over fire

Instructions

In patrols Scouts are to start a small fire. They will be given a tripod to hold a the plastic bottle 1/2 filled with water over the fire when it is ready. The winning patrol is the first to successfully boil water.

If possible the Scouts use a steel to start the fire

Try and give Scouts the option of different sized bottles and highlight the fact that the more water you have the longer it takes to boil.
