Communicate from a distance with semaphore

Resources

Flags (football flags will do, otherwise make some with tea-towels and bits of dowel)
For added fun, after the main activity try it in the dark using glow sticks instead of flags

Instructions

Teach the letters A-G from semaphore.pdf, and then split the scouts and get them to signal sentences down the road with words from the A-G file.

Some sentences (not that you can really call them sentences!):

A dad fed a cabbage
Feed a bad dad egg
Feed a babe a bee
Deface a faded cage
Cage a dead egg
