An introduction to morse code using the tree as well as the standard table.

Morse code sheet, attached. Torches. Paper and pencils.

Instructions

Give the cubs some copies of the sheet between them. Cubs have to write down their own names and then produce a short message- five to ten words- that one of them will then transmit to the other cubs who have to decode it. See which six decodes quickest and most reliably. You don't *need* torches, even tapping a finger on a table will be enough if people are close enough to see/hear it. Make sure you go slowly enough.
