Morse code communication

Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK

Description

Scouts use morse code to communicate with another group and find out the answers to questions

Resources

A set of questions, information to answer the questions, flashing torches or other means of sending morse code.

Instructions

Split each patrol into two sub-teams. One sub-team gets a set of questions, and the other gets information to answer the questions. The sub-team with the questions has to communicate the questions to the other team, the other team uses the information to find the answers and sends them back.

Two sets of questions and informations on communication-related topics can be found in the download section. Please add your own.

This activity works best if the scouts have had a little practice with morse code first. It is not really suitable as an introductory activity. However, it can be made easier if necessary by giving one team a sheet with blanks to fill in for the questions they will be receiving - see download.
