Description

Using basic wooden parts, and parts purchased, make a model 'car' that will run under its own power using a 9 volt battery and a small electric motor

Resources

9 volt battery, small electric motor, gearing cogs and screws, wooden 'chassis' metal 'axles', plastic wheels. All part available from model shops or online (eBay)

Instructions

The leaders make the chassis and then supply all parts to the Scouts to put them together and then race the vehicles inside the hall. This way there is no gluing, nailing or screwing together any parts for the younger Scouts. Also, the Scouts have to be aware that wiring the motor the wrong way could have an effect on the direction...
