Description

Scout patrols plan a route from Scout hut to agreed 'secret destination' using street map and have to document detailed directions and/or sketch a map. This is handed to another patrol who have to follow the written route and find the secret destination

Resources

local street maps - copies of relevant pages
parents to walk with patrols if felt necessary

Instructions

See attached file for details. Preparation is marking map copies with where the Scout hut is and where the 'secret destination' is for each patrol. All should be approx the same walking distance away (20 minutes?) One secret destination per patrol. It is best if it is a specific building (e.g. station, school, playground, restaurant)
