Making charoset for the Jewish passover meal, Seder

6 apples, 1 cup of chopped walnuts, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of white sugar, 3 1/2 teapoons of honey, 1/3 cup of grape juice (instead of sweet wine!), bowls, safety knives, chopping boards, measuring spoons.

Peel and chop the apples and put into a bowl with the walnuts. Mix the cinnamon and white sugar and then sprinkle over the apples and nuts. Stir in the honey and grape juice. Small amounts of the charoset can be added to the seder plates.

Obviously as this recipe contains nuts checks for allergies will need to take place before doing this activity.
