Learn to cook a simple pasta meal from scratch (no Jars)
75g of pasta per person
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
1 onion finely chopped
1 oxo cube or suitable vegetarian substitute
1 Clove of garlic
1 tsp of Italian mixed herbs
6 medium sized mushrooms chopped
100g/person of meat or meat substitute
2 tsp of olive oil
1 litre of water
grated cheese (optional)
Small frying pan
Large sauce pan
Put the water in the large sauce pan and bring to the boil. Add the pasta and simmer for 20 mins
Fry off the meat in the olive oil until cooked through add the Mushrooms, onions and garlic fry until soft.
Sprinkle the crushed stock cube over the meat, onions and mushrooms add the tin of chopped tomatoes sprinkle with the Italian herb mix and simmer for 10 mins.
When cooked strain off the pasta.
At this stage you can either add the meat-sauce mix to the pasta and stir together or serve separately.
Serve and add grated cheese (optional)
