Creating a set of Golden Rules to which the Beaver Colony will run
Large piece of paper
Explain to the Beaver Scouts that between them they are going to create a set of rules for the Colony.
Lead a discussion on what behaviour should be expected in the Colony, like not talking when the leader is talking or not pushing. Write down ALL of the ideas as they come up no matter how silly they maybe or if you agree with them or not.
Go through each of the ideas and ask whether they think they are a good rule to stick to. If a Leader feels strongly enough to overall on a rule then they have the prerogative to do that.
Write up the simple rules on a piece of paper, making them as positive as possible.
Ask each Beaver AND LEADER to agree to the Golden Rules by signing their name around them.
