Good Diet and Sleep (Especially at Camp)
- Using the â€œA Balanced Dietâ€ resource, discuss for no more than 5
minutes different types of healthy foods which are appropriate for camp â€“
what do they like about the usual camp menu, do they think itâ€™s as
healthy as it could/should be?
- Ask them to plan a menu for a weekend camp â€“ being realistic about
what it is possible to cook and including food they would actually eat!
- Talk to the Scouts about the right amount of sleep they think they
should have (Great Ormond Street Hospital recommends around 9 hours
per for 10-14year olds)... ask why this is especially important at camp?
