Growing grass using tights and sawdust

Resources

yoghurt pots
tights/popsocks
grass seed
sawdust/shavings

Instructions

Give each Scout the foot of either tights or popsocks.
Add grass seed to the toe (it's easier if you turn the sock inside out into a plastic cup).
Fill the tights firnly with sawdust/shavings until it is the size of a tennis ball.
Tie off tightly and cut off excess.
Decorate with googly eyes, marker pens etc

The grass head should then be supported, hair side up in a yoghurt pot or eggcup and lightly watered. The hair will start to grow after 5-10 days
