Make flowers to unfold on water

Resources

paper, pencil crayons, wax crayons, scissors, coins/lids, saucer of water

Instructions

Draw round the large coin or small lid. Add petal shapes all the way round. Colour or add a message on the centre (eg Happy Mother's Day, Easter Greetings etc and decorate the petals. Do not use felt tips as this will run. Fold petals over centre circle. Place flower gently onto a saucer of water. As the paper absorbs the water the petals will open. Get beavers to try out their first one then make several to take home.
