Game for large number seated in a circle

Resources

none

Instructions

Sit everyone in a circle. Each seat is assigned a name or number, starting with Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, one, two, three, four, etc. (until everyone has a number).
Everyone joins in, repeating a four-count rhythm, slapping their legs twice, then clicking their fingers twice (ie slap, slap, click left, click right, slap, slap click left, click right ....., etc).

"Matthew" always starts.
On the first click (leg slap), he calls his own name (Matthew), then on their second click the name/number of another position. That person must then call their own number on their first click, followed by the name/number of another's position on their second click.

If someone misses the rhythm, or fails to properly calls their own name or number, etc., they go to the last position, and the game starts over.

The objective of the game is to become Matthew, and stay in that position as long as possible.
