Fishing for magnet letters

Resources

Bucket or container
Newspaper ripped up
Magnetic letters
Fishing rod

Instructions

Place the letters into the container and cover with newspapers
Using the fishing rods each Beavers takes it in turns to fish for a letter in the container
Each Beaver will get 5 goes and each time they will retrieve just one letter
Each letter represents a number (see attached)
After 5 goes each letter is summed up to give a total
After each Beaver has had a go then all totals are summed up giving one grand total
