A traditional Halloween game from Scotland with a modern twist

Resources

Scotch pancakes (drop scones)
A washing line or long string
Shorter pieces of string
jam
protection for the floor

Instructions

Put a hole in the middle of the pancakes
Thread through the string
cover pancake in jam
Tie string to washing line
2 adults should hold washing line up
Girls should stand with hands behind their backs and try to eat the pancakes, they must not use their hands

Traditionally this game was played with treacle scones covered in treacle which is messier but must children don't like black treacle.
