 (I use dried marrowfat peas)

Instructions

Introduction
Mealies are dried seeds of corn from the cob

Mice and Mealies
Instructions
• Brownies form a circle
• In the centre of the circle is a handful of Mealies
• Brownies are numbered 1, 2, 3,4,5,6, in their Sixes (if circle is smaller, adjust numbering so each team are of equal numbers)
• Leader calls out a number, and everyone who has that number steps back out of the circle and runs clockwise round the outside
• re-enters the circle through her own gap
• and begins to pick up the Mealies as fast as she can, using one hand only, (the other is held behind her back).
• As soon as the first Brownie ‘mouse’ enters the circle everyone counts up to twelve.
• The picking up of the Mealies must stop as soon as twelve is reached.
• The Brownie who has the most Mealies scores a point for her six.
