Instructions

Introduction
Explain why Leaders need to use the Guide silence sign i.e. a quick way to get their attention when Ladybirds need to change to a different activity or to say something to them without shouting.

Instructions
• Leader shows the silence sign to the Ladybirds i.e. holds her right hand straight up in the air
• Continue to use the silence sign during the meeting as appropriate
• You may also need to explain when any of the Leaders use the silence sign that all of the other Leaders and Ladybirds must copy the same action
• Explain that all hands must stay up in the air until everyone is completely quiet – at which point the Leader will put her hand down first

Debrief
Talk to the Ladybirds about times when it is important to watch and listen.
