Instructions

Introduction
Explain why Leaders need to use the Guide silence sign i.e. a quick way to get their attention when Ladybirds need to change to a different activity or to say something to them without shouting.

Instructions
• Leader shows the silence sign to the Ladybirds i.e. holds her right hand straight up in the air.
• Continue to use the silence sign during the meeting as appropriate.
• You may also need to explain when any of the Leaders use the silence sign that all of the other Leaders and Ladybirds must copy the same action.
• Explain that all hands must stay up in the air until everyone is completely quiet – at which point the Leader will put her hand down first and deliver the message she needs everyone to hear.

Debrief
Talk to the Ladybirds about times when it is important to watch and listen.
