Introduction
This activity will help the Guides to understand the Guides’ Own ceremony that takes place at Guiding events.
Instructions
Sit the Guides in a circle to explain what Guides’ Own Ceremony is.
Guides’ Own is a special ceremony used primarily when Guides are away overnight and wish to have a spiritual reflective time.
They are celebrations of friendship, singing and reflection on time spent in each other’s company. Guides’ Owns are usually made up of 4 parts:
• the opening song
• readings
• reflection
• the closing song
