To marble paper/card to make book covers or wrapping paper

Resources

Newspapers to protect tables, foil roasting tins, jug of cold water, marbling ink in different colours, pieces of paper or card to fit in trays, a pencil or stick.

Instructions

Pour water into tray 1 -2 cm deep, add some drops of ink to the water a few at a time. Using pencil or stick, move the ink around the tray until colours mix in a feathery pattern. Choose a piece of paper small enough to fit the tray. place your paper into the tray by rolling it down onto the surface of the water. make sure paper is completely flat, floating on the water. Don't let the paper go under the water. Gently lift the paper from the water and you should be able to see all the ink coming away onto the paper. Leave to dry on newspaper.
