Using Bake Off for inspiration... Cubs make their own pancakes to achieve the coveted title of The Half Dozen Master Bakers

Resources

ingredients for American style fluffy pancakes (one set for each Six - pre weighed)
gas burners - one ring for each Six (best to have 1 adult per rings, as pancakes cook quite quickly)
cooking equipment & utensils (one set for each Six)
plates & cutlery
iron & ironing board (one for all Cubs to use)
eye mask, buttons & sewing kit (one for each Six).

Instructions

One week before - ask Cubs to find out what they can about Shrove Tuesday and Carnival Celebrations around the world and remind them to wear their scarves for this session

On the night
Coming in - 10 mins - Discuss safety when cooking & using an iron
Briefing - 5 mins - read instructions & ask questions
50 mins - Great Cub Pancake challenge
10 mins - judging
10 mins - tidy away & clear up
5 mins - results announced
End
