Instructions
Introduction
This activity combines the IGG flag and the National Flag Challenge.
(Detect: Life skills .9)
The flag is emerald green representing Ireland with the gold trefoil of the Irish Girl guides in the centre. The trefoil has a Celtic knot superimposed on it to symbolize unending friendship
Instructions
Copy the enclosed template on to different coloured A4 card, one per six.
Copy the second sheet onto corresponding coloured card, and cut the pieces
You may wish to laminate to protect.
Give each six a dice, the girls take it in turns and they must roll a six to pick up a piece of the card and place it on the correct corresponding place on the card.
As the game continues you could change the rules to rolling a 2 and a 6, and then increase to a 2, 4 and 6, with the dice.
The winners are the first to complete the activity correctly.
Debrief/Discussion
You may wish to get an actual flag for the girls to look at.
You could discuss what the flag symbolizes for us as IGG members. Also discuss when you may see the flag, eg enrolments, St Patrick’s Day, Ceremonies.
