Local Services Hike
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
Go on a short walk around your local area to identify some services that local people could use. These could include Fire stations, ambulance stations, shops, library's, support centres, police stations, leisure centres, council offices, parks.
Resources
Clipboards (1 per person, or 1 per six)
Pens
Paper
Instructions
Explain to the cubs what we are doing before setting off, telling them to write down on their paper the services that are available to local people as they walk around the town. Get the leaders to write a list as well so that you can compare what adults think is available and what the Cubs think is available.
At the end of the walk have a discussion about the different services that are available in our town and ask if there are any they are surprised to see, surprised not to find.
