Whiteboard, flipchart, large paper, cut outs of campsite parts etc.

Instructions

Using the factsheet, discuss the theory behind setting up a campsite. Using either the whiteboard, flipchart etc, draw a basic site showing access, wind direction, water points, wooded areas and water features (streams, rivers, ponds etc). the Scouts can then design their campsite layout using the knowledge gained. Get them to give reasons for locating things where they have.
