A two-part burger design activity combining elements of the Skills challenge and the Artist/Chef activity badges. We planned this activity to coincide with "Hamburger Month" in May which is apparently a thing in American restaurants (https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/hamburger-month).
If doing this activity at only one meeting, you'll need let the cubs know what ingredients they have to choose from at the start. Spice it up by bringing "unusual" items eg. fruit, sweets etc. We're doing it over two weeks, so that the Cubs can design it first and then leaders can do the shopping for the following week. As we don't have cooking facilities, we're going to pre-cook the burgers and keep them warm in a slow-cooker.
Week one: Cubs will design a new burger which they'll paint onto canvas in the style of a recipe poster (see attached)
Week two: Cubs will put the burger together based on their design, to be tasted and scored by the rest of the pack.
