Description

Teams have to create an apparatus to transfer water between 2 buckets over a given distance.

Resources

Mixture of useful and not-so-useful items.
Pioneering poles, rope, tarp, tent pegs etc

Instructions

For each team mark out a start and finish point on the ground outside (Eg: 6 meters). At the start point should be a full bucket of water and at the finish line have an empty bucket of water.
Scouts need to create an apparatus to transfer water between 2 buckets over a given distance. When we did this most teams made a slide using the pioneering poles and the tarp.
After 45 minutes the teams present their solution. They pour their full bucket of water at the starting line, the team who has collected the most water at the finish bucket are the winners.

Mix it up:
* Allow teams to have a maximum of 3 trial runs
* Award a prize for most inventive solution
* Have a quiz to decide how much water is in each team's starting bucket
