Blank Paper- A3
Aim of Badge:
To practice having a positive mental attitude
This Badge has 6 options of which 6 must be completed
Give each Brownie a scissors and blank paper, and share out the glue sticks, magazines, newspapers and comics among the Sixes.
Give each Six the following list of questions and ask each Brownie to pick out, cut out and stick on to her paper one image that shows how she feels about each statement, e.g. my favourite type of toy – picture of a ball/doll/teddy, etc. Brownies should aim for at least one image per question, and can also use cut-out headlines and their own drawings in the collage.
After some time, Brownies may want to swap around magazines etc. Brownies may want to bring their collages home to finish before the next meeting.
Get the Brownies to lay out their finished collages and allow them to walk around the room to see each other’s work. Bring the group back together at Pow Wow, and ask the Brownies:
1. Were the collages all the same?
2. Did the collages share some similar images?
3. What made each one different from the others?
Wrap up the discussion by highlighting:
While many interests are shared, each Brownie is a unique and special combination of interests, qualities and skills.
It is important that you are able to say what you are good at and what you think of yourself.
