Children nowadays get very little exercise. Most children are driven to school and to all their activities by parents and minders. They spend a lot of time looking at television and playing computer games and not as much time playing outside in the fresh air with their friends. For some children the only activity they have is going to their Ladybird Guide meetings. So it is important to include lots of active running around games in your Ladybird Guide programme. In this section we want the Ladybird Guides to understand:
The importance of exercise.
Why we need to exercise.
What exercise does for our bodies.
The importance of warming up before exercise
The necessity of cooling down and stretching out after exercise.
Exercise increases your energy level.

Exercising delivers oxygen and nutrients to your whole body helping it to work more efficiently and boost your endurance
Exercise Makes Your Heart Happy
You may know that your heart is a muscle.

It works hard, pumping blood every day of your life. You can help this important muscle get stronger by doing aerobic exercise. ] Aerobic means "with air," so aerobic exercise is a kind of activity that requires oxygen. When you breathe, you take in oxygen, and, if you're doing aerobic exercise, you may notice you're breathing faster than normal. Aerobic activity can get your heart pumping, make you sweaty, and quicken your breathing.
Mini Assault Course Equipment: hoops, skipping ropes, balls, chairs, baskets, beanbags Method: Divide the girls into teams and lay out a course for each team. The first girl from each team runs to the hoop and climbs through it, then she walks along the skipping rope, bounces the ball twice. Next she takes a beanbag out of the basket and walks with the beanbag on her head to the chair and then back to the basket, throws the beanbag into the basket and runs back to the starting line to let the next person go. The first team to finish are the winners.
