Instructions
Song:
Three blind mice, three blind mice,
See how they run, see how they run,
They all run after the farmer’s wife
She cut off their tails with a carving knife,
Did ever you see such a thing in your life
As three blind mice.
Notes to help teach the song:
• These actions may make this song look complicated but boys learn very quickly and have great fun with it.
• It is helpful if two leaders stand in front of the boys so that the boys can follow the actions easily.
• Explain the actions prior to singing it.
• Fewer words can be left out if you wish.
Sing the song 8 times in quick succession..
The first time sing the song with all the words and no actions.
The second time leave out one word (Three).
The third time leave out two words (Three Blind).
Continue in this way leaving out an additional word each time, as suggested below. In place of the words the boys do an action (suggested actions are listed below)

Cut Make a cutting action with your hand
Tails Make a long tails in the air using your fingers
Going to Get Some Food
Notes to help teach the song:
• This is a song similar to ‘One man went to mow’ with items being added each time.
• At the start of each verse one item is lifted out of the box and set on the table.
• The items are set on the table in a row so that the boys can remember the order.
• A boy could be chosen to pick an item out of the box each time.
• Suggested items of food are listed below.
• Make sure the first item is a tin of baked beans so that the rhythm is established.

a) No equipment required

b) Bin(s) – depending on how many boys you have, you may need 3 or 4 bins around the hall. Selection of litter scattered around the hall for boys to pick up and put in the bin (for second verse make sure you have lots of empty crisp packets and sweet wrappers)
