Introduction
This activity will make Guides aware of where their local recycling facilities are and how important it is to separate waste.
Instructions
If the recycling centre is within walking distance of your meeting place:
Split the girls into patrols/groups.
Provide each patrol with a compass and a map of your local area with your meeting place and recycling centre marked.
The girls must find the recycling centre and report back as to what kind of bins are there and what can be put in each bin.
If the recycling centre is not within walking distance of your meeting place:
Split the girls into patrols/groups.
Provide each patrol with a map of your local area with your meeting place and recycling centre marked.
Each patrol should work out the fastest way of getting to the recycling centre from your meeting place. What facilities would they expect to find there?
