Description
The black snake experiment - When the baking soda gets hot, it makes carbon dioxide gas. The pressure from this gas pushes the carbonate from the burning sugar out of the sand, producing the “black snakes”

Mix one part of baking soda to 4 parts sugar
Sprinkle a bowl of sand with the lighter fluid.
Pour the sugar/baking soda mixture on top of the sand/lighter fluid.
Light the sugar/baking soda mixture
