CREATE A HOME ESCAPE PLAN
Introduction
Every household should have some sort of escape plan in place, in an unlikely event that a fire breaks out in the home. Hopefully you will never have to use it, but it is important to prepare for it so there is no delay when it is put into action.

Instructions

 This activity requires a Leader to work with each group
 Give each Brownie a copy of the attached sheet
 Talk about the home each of the Brownies live in i.e. is it a house terraced, semi or detached, is it a flat or apartment Leaders discuss how to draw an escape plan
 How many members are there is their family
 Leader completes a sample EDITH
 Brownies draw a plan of their home and the possible escape routes out of every room, with the help of a Leader
 Ideally there should be two ways out of every room if possible
 Identify a meeting place outside and away from the house
 Brownies take home the sheet and complete their family

You also might wish to talk about the fire evacuation plan for the building you hold your Brownie weekly meeting at.
