Introduction
STEPS at Engineers Ireland is a not-for-profit outreach programme, which aims to promote engineering, and STEM subjects to young people (see additional details overleaf)
Guiding and engineering have many common skills sets and traits: working in teams, finding solutions, thinking logically, using available resources, planning etc. IGG have teamed up with STEPS, to help grow the popularity of engineering with girls, and to demonstrate to them the many possibilities within the discipline
STEPS would like to collect good quality data from the Brownies before they attempt the Engineering Badge, and again on completion, to compare answers and to track the positive (or otherwise) impact of the badge on them.
Instructions
The short warm up games Jumping Frogs &Shout it OUT! (see overleaf) are fun and easy ways to collect the data.
