Description

Air plane Game - each member of the plane is assigned an air plane part (wing, fuselage tail etc) and they then need to build themselves into the plane by holding hands tummy etc. Then each six, in their assembled plane, line up at the start line and conduct a series or races. The leaders act as air-traffic control and the young leaders as small planes or drones

Cubs, Leaders, Young Leaders, Attached sheet but not required as all instruction could be verbalised.

Air Plane Game
Basis of the Game –
Air plane Game - each member of the plane is assigned an air plane part (wing, fuselage tail etc) and they then need to build themselves into the plane by holding hands tummy etc. Then each six, in their assembled plane, line up at the start line and conduct a series or races. The leaders act as air-traffic control and the young leaders as small planes or drones

Team Game – Teamwork

Method –
Split the pack into teams of 4 or 6 – it could be one cub from each six to mix it up a bit and get more out of the team work aspect.
Each Cub is given a part of the plane – either verbally and using the attached sheet.
The cubs then need to put the parts of the jigsaw together, and then recreate the jigsaw themselves. The fuselage links arms with the wings, and the tail holds onto the fuselage’s middle. (If using 6 cubs have 2 one each wing.)

Game –
Each plane is given a call sign
The leaders then are the air traffic Controllers for that plane, and the plane need to go where directed but they must stay linked.
If the plane becomes unlinked or hit an object, then they have crashed.
During the game the Air Traffic Controllers call out directions to their planes using their call sign to identify which plane is to move where.
The young Leaders act as little planes, drones, gliders or hot air balloons and move about accordingly. Obviously, a hot air balloon will not move as quickly as a plane, and therefor the plane must move to avoid the balloon.
The winning plane is the one that is still flying at the end and has landed safely.
