Micro models made from lolly sticks, card, tape etc.
Resources
lolly sticks, card, tape etc.
Hot glue
Modelling wire 1mm.
Power source: 1s LiPo battery 3.7v
Standard RC receiver and transmitter. We have tried 2 different receivers, both do work reliably from 3.7v lipo cell (despite being rated at 4.8v min).
Power cable/connector to connect battery to receiver. (check battery connector type).
Motor: 8.5x20mm corelss DC, 1mm shaft:

Instructions
Example prototypes: https://photos.app.goo.gl/hzLRECUKBgZmbbsd8
As you can see there is amble power to move a model along a smooth surface using wheels or skids. Models don'1 have to go air borne.
Decoration is important.
Motors and servos can stay in the models. Steering by rudder and/or wheel. Rudder hinged with tape operated by wire from servo should work.
Models must be able to accommodate RC receiver, speed controller and battery on a platform or in enclosure, samples provided during construction and for testing.
Point to point indoor races, 2 models each race. Electronics will be hot plugged between models.
For Cubs, we are providing a central air frame on which to attach the model using velvro or blutack : https://photos.app.goo.gl/MVPMso7Jct4uQpueA
