Brown, Orange, white and Black Card
White (or other colour paper)
Brass fasteners
Hole punch
Glue stick
Scissors
Owl Template (see overleaf)
Promise (see overleaf) Optional

Markers
Instructions
Introduction:
To introduce the Brownies to the Brownie Guide Promise and Sign.
The Brownie Guide Promise
I promise to do my best
to do my duty to my God* and my country
To help those at home every day and
to obey the Brownie Guide Law.
*The word "God" may be replaced by the word "faith" according
to one's spiritual beliefs
Instructions
Before the meeting
Print the template onto brown card
Print Promise onto white paper
At the meeting
1. Cut out all the pieces
2. Punch hole where the circles are marked
3. Fasten the wings onto the body using brass fasteners
4. Decorate the face
5. Stick the Promise onto the owl’s tummy or Brownies can write the Promise onto the tummy
6. Decorate the wings using markers
Debrief/Discussion
Now the girls can practice their Promise - they can open the wings to look at it, then close them to practice
