Introduction to the power of air tools, and the great care that must be used around them - or not touching them!

Assorted air tools and compressor with hose.
Materials appropriate to demonstrate on.

Instructions

Discuss popularity of air powered tools, in the workplace.
Ensure youth understand that most are too powerful for them to use or go near.
Safety is a must! Even if helping Mom/Dad, ears and eyes need to be protected.

Show several more dangerous tools, and why they are dangerous.

Show small brad nailer, and help them learn how it can be used, and then nail together some wood.
Ensure that always pressed against materials, always with fingers out of the way, and remind that if it hits something solid it can curve right back up at you. (like another nail head under a layer of wood)
Let them do it.
Show them how the nails come through sometimes, and could be just as easily go through them. (real understanding - some kids need this - "...is that wood harder or softer than your hand?")
