Description

a game played by 2 teams. 1 team being the astronauts flying between space stations or satellites and the other team being the meteors trying to knock out the astronauts

Resources

Carpet tiles or sheets of paper to be on the floor as a satellite or space station has to be at least 1 less than the number of cubs playing as astronauts

Instructions

you need a 'spot' for each Cub less one. (We use pieces of carpets that are just the size to sit on) These would be the Space Stations. Each Cub would be an astronaut. The Cubs would fly through space (run around) and have to avoid the Meteors (Leaders or another Cub). If you are tagged by a Meteor you are out, taking a Space Station with you (so there are always fewer stations than astronauts).

As you fly up to a Space Station, if there is a Cub in the station they must leave (stations only have room for one astronaut at a time). For us to prevent pushing and such we have them say "see ya" to verbalize that they are taking control of the spot and the other must leave.

You don't have to wait for someone to evict you from the station, you can leave when ever you want. But if another comes and says "see ya" then you must leave. Those playing meteors are not allowed to "guard" a station waiting for someone to come off (that is why there is always one less station than cub, so there is always someone to chase)

Some games don't seem to move very quickly, so we sometimes remove extra stations so that more are forced to be running around at one time.
