Per Six-
1 Skateboard - (Cubs will need to be asked to bring these the week before)
1 small plastic / cardboard box
1 short piece of rope - long enough to reach from their team to the centre of the playing field.
Instructions
WARN THE CUBS to not put their hands on the floor in-front of them, while on the skateboard. As one of mine found out, it hurts when their fingers get run over!
The Cubs work in their sixes and the sixes are spaced evenly around the hall.
One Cub from each six is the catcher and needs to lay on their belly on the skateboard, facing forwards.
They hold the box upside down, ready to snatch the balls, in front of them.
The rope needs to be tied to the back of the skateboard, ready for the six to pull their teammate back
On 'Go' - The team give their teammate on the skateboard, a big push into the centre of the hall, where the Cub on the skateboard needs to grab as many balls, with their box, as possible.
Once they've got their balls, the Cubs needs to pull back their teammate using the rope.
Two variations can happen here, Either the same cub stays on the board for the whole round OR the Cubs swap over after each push into the centre.
Another Cub takes position on the skateboard and is pushed into the centre.
The round continues until there are no more balls left in the centre. The Six with the most balls collected wins the round!
The balls are returned, by the Cubs, to the centre ready for as many more goes as you like!
