500ml clean bottle
water
vegetable oil
food colouring
2 x alka-seltzer tablets
discussion card

Instructions

1. Fill bottle with 1/3 of cold water.
2. Fill bottle with 2/3 of cooking oil
3. Snap and place a glow stick in the bottle.
4. Put in a few drops of food colouring in bottle
5. WAIT 5 MINS to allow liquids to settle
Use this time to discuss what’s going to happen.
Use DISCUSSION CARDS PER SIXERS TABLE
6. Break up and drop ONE Alka-Seltzer tablet PER CUB into bottle
7. Option to use CUB torches in cupboard
8. Turn off room lights for added effect.
9. Put lids back on bottle and make sure they are named.
