Description

Game that involves racing around the hall driving "cars" with a wooden stave.

Resources

1x plate (that can get scratched, alternatively any object that can be propelled by a cane) & 1x wooden stave per team

Instructions

Mark out or define the route of the race for the teams. Generally this is a circular route so that they can hand off the car to the next team member - we usually do a figure of eight so there is a crossover point.

Teams line up at appropriate points along the course (this can be together or spread around a circular course), and then race their cars by propelling them with the cane/stave around the course. At the end of the course, they hand over to the next team member etc until one team finishes. The "car" must make it around the course.

Depending on the scouts, intended difficulty etc. you can allow or ban interfering/blocking opponents as they race.
