Recycled Egg Carton Craft

Instructions:
1. Leaders: Cut egg carton into ‘cups’ – each egg holder makes one cup and give each Ladybird at least three cups.
2. Let the Ladybirds cut the sides of each cup, this being the first step into shaping your egg carton flowers.
3. Leaders: Also cut leaves, stems and a short straight strip from the flat top of the egg carton for each Ladybird.
4. Shape the sides, make them round. You will need one with smaller ‘petals’ and two with larger ones.
5. Shape the flowers by gently pushing the middle down whilst lifting the edges of the petals.
6. Roll the short, straight strip into a spiral to make the centre of the flower.
7. Ask the Ladybirds to paint the flowers and the leaves using bright colours of their choice.
8. Leaders can help the Ladybirds to glue the twirled circle into the centre of the smaller, shorter flower piece after the Ladybirds have glued the other flowers to each other.
9. Glue the stem and the flower to the card.
10. The flower card can then be given to someone special as an Easter card.
