Instructions

Aim of Badge: To learn more about the aviation industry and the roles women play within it

This Badge has 4 options of which all must be completed

Introduction:

 Read story about Amelia Earhart to the Brownies (See overleaf)
Other famous female pilots that could be discussed
 Therese Peltier- On the 8th July 1908 she became the 1st female to fly as a passenger
 Raymonde de Laroche-1st female to earn a pilot license
 Amy Johnson-1st female to fly from England to Australia
 Gráinne Cronin-1st Aer Lingus Female Pilot

Instructions

• Each Brownie will need a wooden clothes peg, two lollipop sticks, four match sticks and the template (see overleaf)
• Brownies can colour in the lollipop sticks, match sticks and pegs, alternatively you can use colouring lollipop sticks and match sticks
• Using pritt stick or a hot glue gun stick the lollipop sticks on to the top and bottom of the open side of the peg
• Glue the match sticks onto the closed end of the peg
• Insert the template containing the story of Amelia Earhart into the closed end of the peg

The template has been left blank on the reverse so that a variety of ideas can be used for filling it, below are just some of the examples

 Wherever in the world the Brownie would love to fly their plane
