Area with plenty of linking roads.
Dice
Map with snakes and ladders overlaid beforehand.

I took a map and found a route they could walk on to get from the hut to a shop/fish and chips/etc. Write numbers from 1 - 100 (or whatever) along the route. Draw some snakes and ladders linking numbers together in places where they could reasonably quickly jump forwards/backwards via side-streets etc.

Instructions

Give each group a couple of dice and the map.

They roll the dice and walk to roughly that place on the roads.

If they land on a snake/ladder, they walk to the other end.
