needle-nose pliers
two zip ties
paper (cut into the correct size to fit on the front of a bottle), pen & clear contact paper (optional)
Decorations
Instructions
1) Cut a hole big enough to place a roll of bags into on the front of the bottle, towards the bottom of the bottle.
2) Make four zip tie holder holes on the opposite side of the bottle from the cut-out, two at the top corners and two at the bottom corners (Beavers may need help to do this)
3) Insert zip tie into one hole, then pull through the second hole.
4) Place a note about how the community poop bag share station works on the poop bag dispenser (these could be pre-printed) and cover with clear plastic.
5) Fasten your poop bag dispenser to an approved place* in your neighbourhood or park.
Get the children to create posters that can be placed alongside the bottles to encourage people to use them.
* You may need to check with your local council to see if they are happy for you to place them around where you live.
Tips:
cut the hole in the bottle small enough that rain will not soak the bags, wind will not blow the bags out and it is difficult for someone to deposit a full bag
place the station on the lee of the pole, fence, etc, so it will get less weather damage
make an educational sign describing what the community poop bag share station is and why it is necessary to scoop that poop
