A planed night looking at the following parts of the athletics badge:
-Running
-Teamwork
(This program has a second part to fully complete the ATHLETICS BADGE 'Skills - Athletics Badge'
Note: sports suitable activity wear and water bottle needed
Resources
400m running track
100m running track
4x big cones
8x small cones
Stopwatch
Instructions
Flag and inspection (15 minutes)
Indoor game of your choice (while leaders get the equipment ready)(10-15 minutes)
Leave to park (5 minutes)
GROUP ACTIVITIES START (4x Groups)
GROUP ONE
Non-stop running around the track (at least 400m per cub)(two laps around our 200m track) (10 minutes)
GROUP TWO
Shuttle run - (1st cone at 10 feet, 2nd cone at 25 feet, 3rd cone at 20 feet) Cubs run up touch the first cone, run back to start, run to second cone the back to start, ect. until all cubs have completed the shuttle run (make it a 'Competition and see who can do it the most times' (10 minutes)
GROUP THREE
Team relay - spilt your cubs to two smaller teams and place one group at one end of the 100m track and the others opposite them. On go, they will run to the other tag there teammate and carry on. (time them and give them their time at the end) (10 minutes)
GROUP FOUR
Training Program -
20 star jumps
10 sit-ups
10 push-ups
1 minute job on the spot
10 burpees
3 minute break
job around the field till the end (10 minutes)
SWAP GROUPS ROUND EVERY 10 MINUTES (40 minutes total)
Any game of your choice (10-15 minutes)
walk back (5 minutes)
Flag (5 minutes)
Total Time = 1hr 45mins
