An activity to get the Beavers in their Lodges thinking about what their dad does for them, and then making a card.

Resources

Pens and paper
flip chart and marker pen
A5 cards and envelopes
coloured pens
pre-printed mottoes/pictures

Instructions

Beavers go into their Lodges and discuss what they think their dad does for them and what they like about their dad.

Leaders draw a big Super Dad on a flip chart. Lodges call out their ideas about what makes a Super Dad to annotate the picture.

Beavers then make a car for dad.


Beavers choose a Batman style 'wham' or 'pow' picture to colour in and stick on their card.

Then they stick a pre-printed verse inside their card: "I love my dad because …. "

They then write under the verse at least one of the ideas they came up with earlier then sign. Seal in an envelope with their name on back, and write Dad on front of envelope.
