Description

Beavers are split into groups, they then have to use radio procedure correctly to gain their 'word'. Once each beaver has got their word it creates a jumbled sentence. Now as a group they have to unscramble the words to create a sentence, this sentence will lead them outside to find their 'treasure'.

Resources

2 Radios per group (the amount of groups depends on the size of your colony)

A prize for the treasure (something as simple or as amazing as you like)

Laminated papers with words on to give to the beavers upon correctly using the radio.

Instructions

Split the colony into groups.

Sit each group around a table and provide them with a radio.

They will now take it in turns to correctly use radio procedure (with help from leaders) to contact a leader outside

Once they have done this and have gained their word, they will be given a paper with a word on it. Put this in the middle of the table to unscramble later. Beavers can unscramble the words whilst not using the radio.

All words must be in the right order before the beavers are allowed to sensibly go outside and find their 'treasure'. The sentence they make could tell them where it is or be a clue that they have to work out depending on time.
