Description

To get patrols to cook a two cause meal from a selection of ingredients selected from bags.

Resources

7 or 8 Non see through shopping bags
Cooking equipment 2 ring gas stove, pots, pan & utensils.
Ingredients for the bags
Table of Items which can be found in a standard kitchen. IE. salt, Herbs, Butter, oil, Milk, cream etc.

Instructions

Split the ingredients into the bags. If you have 4 patrols, then you need 4 different ingredients in each bag for example

Bag 1 - Mince, Chicken Breast, Sausages & Pork loin stakes
Bag 2 - Carrots, Broccoli, Mushrooms & potatoes
Bag 3 - Onion, Pepper, cabbage & brussels
Bag 4 - Rice, Pasta, Noodles ( 2 of each item)
Bag 5 - Tin vegetables ( we have used kidney beans, sweetcorn, copped tomatoes, peas etc.)
Bag 6 - Fresh fruit
Bag 7 - Tinned fruit

Get each pratol to come up and take one item from each bag without looking into the bags.

The patrol then have to come up with a two cause meal from the ingredients selected. They are able to use items from the table of standard kitchen items.

Set them a 60 min time window to make and cook the meal.

Mark the meals as follows: out of 10 for each item.
1, Leadership
2, Teamwork
3, Hygiene
4, safety
5, cooking skills
6, presentation
7, taste
8, clearing up.
