Description

Game of TRUST and COMMITMENT, INTEGRITY and CARING.
Connecting using only your eyes. No speaking whatsoever. Once connected with a partner, carry through the action showing trust in your partner.
Move as quickly as possible to exchange seats when the music stops.
Risk losing your seat.

Resources

Row of equal number of seats facing each other, about ten feet apart.
Tables/wall supporting the backs of the seats, so that they don't fall over.

Instructions

Based on the Argentine Tango protocol called 'cabeceo' where signalling to dance with a partner takes place with only the eyes, across a crowded room.

Volunteer to be the first 'ON-IT PERSON': they stand in the middle of the rows, equal distance from each end.

Remainder of Cubs take up the seats on opposite sides of the room. If odd number, Leader/Young Leader/Explorer/Adult volunteer, join in to make it equal number of players.

Argentine Tango Music plays.
Milonga music is best (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnxnXSMZpXc)

While the music plays the seated Cubs exchange glances with the Cubs on the opposite row. Find someone eye-to-eye, who might be looking straight at you and signals only with their eyes that they will be your partner.
NO HEAD MOVEMENTS, NO HAND MOVEMENTS, NO BODY MOVEMENTS, NO SPEAKING.

When you have secured your partner with your glance, both of you close your eyes, showing you have committed to each other.

When the music STOPS - partnered people EXCHANGE SEATS - quickly.

ON-IT-PERSON: You have to observe what is happening hoping to see who's committed, who has not. You must try to dash to occupy a seat as soon as it becomes available, thus making someone else the ON-IT-PERSON in the next round.

Keep hands, feet, and nasty thoughts to yourself. Act nobly with INTEGRITY to avoid knocking anyone over.

Process begins over, when the new ON-IT PERSON is left without a seat.
